About Siglo

We began research and development into the deterioration and preservation of analog film in 2009.
There were three reasons for this:
We felt that we needed to preserve film for future generations and preserve the original films, videos, and materials.
We realized the importance of preserving material on physical media, especially in the digital age.
We recognized a responsibility because Ashigara Manufacturing Inc.
has been involved with motion picture film since 1932, when it was first made in Japan.

Since 2015, we have conducted data verification and field testing for
the final product, distributed samples to relevant parties, and incorporated
their feedback.
Finally, we launched the new product in September 2018 in Japan.
Today, our Siglo is used in many facilities, including national museums
and archives, as a film deterioration inhibitor, helping to weave history.

The Origin of the Product Name“Siglo”
The name "Siglo" comes from the Spanish word "siglo," which means "century" or "hundred."
We named it “Siglo” with the desire to preserve film materials for future generations and
for the next century.
